There is a limited choice in student accomodation in our region!
Your accommodation can be arranged by the housing officer of STUVO-KHBO.
What can you expect from a room or studio?
A room is furnished: a bed and mattress, wardrobe, desk and desk chair.
There is a wash basin in the room with cold and hot water. The bathroom and kitchen are to be shared by all students.
A studio has its own bathroom and kitchenette.
The rental fee is between € 230 and € 250 per month for rent and energy costs.
Internet is not always present. If it is available you need to pay extra for internet connection. The amount depends on the number of users of the connection.
A duvet, pillow and sheets can be rented, but need to be arranged in advance. Please contact Ms.I.Eytorff from STUVO-KHBO.
A room or studio is only for one student!
You prefer your accommodation to be arranged by STUVO-KHBO. What do you have to do?
You apply by filling out the application form for accomodation. It is of extreme importance that the date of arrival and departure are mentioned correctly.
You can always find accommodation by yourself. But be aware that finding accommodation on the private market is quite difficult, since most owners are not eager to take on tenants that only stay for a couple of months.
When completely filled out, you send the application form to Ms.I.Eytorff.
Applications must be received at the latest 2 months before arrival. Applications received after these dates will not be guaranteed accommodation!
STUVO-KHBO will send you an email to confirm your application and will also take care of the booking of the room.
You should pay the refundable deposit of € 250 + a mediation fee of € 50 on the bank account of STUVO-KHBO. You can find the bank information on the application form.
Your room will only be assured and kept available once the payment is done.
Two weeks before arrival you need to send your flight/arrival details to Ms.I.Eytorff. This in order to make timely arrangements with the owner of the student house.
By arrival you go directly to the student house. You will receive your rental contract and keys. The first (two) months rent need to be payed cash to the owner.
The following months rent must be payed monthly to the owner. You will have to make an arrangement with the owner of the student house.
In case of any problems concerning accommodation, you report them immediately to STUVO-KHBO.
End of the rental contract: how do you receive your deposit back?
By leaving the room you make an appointment with the owner of the student house in order to check the room.
If the room is clean, the furniture is not damaged, the bed linen is not damaged and the keys are delivered, the deposit will be given back to you on your bank account. STUVO-KHBO will email you with a form that you need to fill out and send back as soon as possible.
For students who rent the bed linen in Oostende, we ask them to bring the bed linen to the school of KHBO in Oostende.
