The Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) is one of Ireland's largest third level institutions, providing a range of full time and part time courses from apprentice to post-doctoral level. DIT has over 21,000 students in course areas as diverse as architecture, food science, construction, information technology, music, property and social care.
DIT has a proud history of service going back to 1887. It has had an enormous impact on the education of generations of peaople, on the social fabric of Dublin and on the economic and cultural development of modern Ireland.
Formed as a single institute in 1992, by an amalgamation of six colleges of technology, business and arts, the institute currently has six faculties: Science, Engineering, Applied Arts, Built Environment, Business, and Torism and Food.
